Hmm after looking over the line up from the night before (11.01.05) I am pretty sure Johnny was right … Bono was begging us to motivate them to stay on stage longer… Bono had us chanting “the people have the power”. I now believe he did, in fact, have us chanting that intentionally with a dual meaning… it wasn’t just about social justice … he was wanting to see how much we wanted them to stay on stage… he gave us 2 chances (encores) and in the end he looked at Edge, smirked and waved goodbye… the crowd had lost momentum … and they chose to end. I wondered why we didn’t get 40!!! So damn interesting wouldn’t you say Johnny?
