Well, last Thursday was my final day at Gospel Light. After 10 years of life and memories I packed up my office and said goodbye. I have closed a chapter on my life and now I am about to open a new one.
It was sad to leave but not as sad as I expected it to be. Maybe because I know deep down that what I valued most about going to work everyday were the people that I worked with and I know (without a doubt) that I will not loose those relationships. In fact, I will be going back for a visit on January 5th before I start my new job and my boss is going to take us girls out to lunch!
My friends gave me a going away party but instead of a “going away gift” the girls decided to take a donation for me for Build a Village. They raised $200 for our friends in Kenya! I was so touched that they knew me so well and knew that I would value something like that more than a gift for me. I love my girl friends! They have been a source of support and laughter for the last several months.
Here are some pictures from my going away party.
Brenda, Rosanne (holding Julia, Anne’s daughter), Anne, Barbara, me and Nola (my boss)
The girls and our boys! Rosanne & Anthony, Brenda & Mike, Dean & I, Barbara & Don

My last day of work. My friends took me out to lunch to my favorite restaurant, Royal Bakery. Dang I am going to miss that place! The chicken ceaser salad is the best I have ever had.

it’s always great to leave a place knowing you will miss the people…if that makes any sense. Merry Christmas and a great new year!
