Vegas, baby!

Now, I am the first one to admit I do not like Vegas. It stands for all the wrong things and I don’t smoke or gamble and I only drink occasionally … so why did all of us girls want to go again?!?! Well, I hadn’t been in 8 years and had heard really great things about the hotels Like the Paris, Wynn, and the Venetian-The dancing fountains at the Bellagio are beautiful-and of course it was a chance to spend some time with the girls since we no longer work together.

We ended up having a great time despite all of the vices surrounding us! It was great to hang and shop and stroll around grown up Disneyland! My favorite part of the trip was working out with Brenda on the rooftop indoor/outdoor gym. It was nice to be away from the smoke filled casinos, breathing the fresh air and enjoying the sun on our faces!

And of course we made some memories that we will probably have us laughing for years to come. Barb and I have been teasing Brenda and Rosanne mercilessly since we came home about a few of those priceless moments. See, Saturday night we finally surrendered to the $1 beers and $2 Cobo Wabo shots and as the sang goes … ”What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.” (Except for the few pics I will post here) …

… yeah, it was great to hang with the girls but I am thinking I have had my fill of Vegas for at least another 8 years!!!

    

Fitness Goals Part II

I wrote this goal back in mid September. I think it’s time for an update …

MY GOAL:
A six-pack by Christmas! And, of course, toned thighs, hips and butt too! (We are going to Hawaii in December and I want to wear a bikini without having anything bulging or wiggling if you know what I mean! HAHA)

Ok so I started working out with a trainer at the gym named Brian. He is great! I have met with him 3 days a week for the last 2 and a half months. My body has definitely changed! I have lost 12 pounds and all of my clothes are baggy on me! My arms are very defined and my stomach is hard!! YEA!!!

I have learned to eat really well too. Dean found a book written by a body builder named Tom Venuto. It’s called Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle. I mentioned it to Brian and he said it is one of the best books you can read on body building and proper nutrition. (Way to go Dean!!)

I think my progress really inspired Dean. He is back at the gym now too! We are both eating really well. Dean is very supportive and encouraging; he calls me “six-pack”. How cute is that!! He’s the best.

I love going to the gym. I call it my second home. I go almost everyday (and about 4 to 5 days a week I go twice a day). Jenna and Staci have been my faithful gym partners. And they are both looking great!! Oh and Emily and Cheryl just recently joined too. Jenna and Staci want to do a triathalon with me and Jenna and Emily want to run a marathon next year. I told them I would do it with them if they really wanted to. I love that everyone around me wants to be healthy and strong!

At work I have inspired Rosanne to join a gym and I think she is going to get a personal trainer too! Barbara and Brenda are my running partners. It is so great to have friends who like to run as much as I do. We did some local races together in November. I will run one more race on December 17th just before we leave for Hawaii.
